Fourth of July Parade and Picnic

Saturday July 4th at the Eagle Crest Park
Parade at 11:00 am
Picnic will follow

Everyone should plan to attend the annual Fourth of July Parade and Picnic. This event has always been a neighborhood favorite for getting out and meeting new neighbors and joining the kids as they decorate their tricycles, bicycles, and unicycles in festive red, white, and blue. Prizes will be awarded to the boy and girl with the most patriotic flair. Parade participants will meet at the park at 10:40 and ready to begin the extended parade route trek at 11:00am.

After the parade, return to the park for a Hot Dog Picnic and social. Your HOA will be supplying Hot Dogs, Buns, Drinks, and utensils. Please pitch in by bringing either a dessert or side dish. [Even numbered addresses bring desserts, Odd numbered addresses bring side dishes] This will be a great opportunity to finally put some names to the faces that you pass by each day.

As a reminder, we will be holding our regularly scheduled Neighborhood Beautification Day on the next Saturday July 11th at 9:00 am. Routine cleanup will be accompanied by the delivery of fresh sand for the park, so we will need some hardy volunteers to assist in leveling out the new sand.

SPRING CLEANUP : JUNE 6th and 7th

Your HOA is sponsoring a spring cleanup for Eagle Crest Residents. If you would like to rid your garage, storage closet, etc of larger waste items, you will notice that dumpsters will be stationed at two locations in the neighborhood. They will be located on empty lots to the east and west of the main Eagle Crest entrance.. In addition, resident Fred Pfeffer owner of SHRED PROS, has generously offered to provide a shredding truck on Saturday from 9:00 - 12:00 am, to help you dispose of any sensitive or personal documents with confidence and eaze. This will be located in Eagle Crest circle.

We hope to make Spring Cleanup / Dumpster Days an annual tradition here in Eagle Crest in part of our continuing efforts to help improve our neighborhood. Please be considerate of those dumping after you by keeping your refuse contained or bundled so as to maximize dumpster capacity.Give a Hoot! Don't Pollute! And pitch in by grabbing any loose garbage you may see on your way to the dumpsters. Working together, let us keep Eagle Crest a neighborhood of which to be proud.

1st Monthly Beautification Day Success!

A Big Thank you to all who pitched in to help on our first monthly neighborhood beautification day! We started some much needed repair and maitenance on our Eagle Crest Park equipment, while several Father/son teams picked up trash along our entrance and fence along Cornhusker road. Weeding and trimming our common areas was a big job, but achieved handily by hardworking and dedicated volunteers. Keep your eyes peeled for the yellow signs at the entrances to serve as reminder of our next monthly cleanup which is scheduled for June 6th. Each first Saturday of the months May thru October, please plan to meet at the Park Gazebo at 9:00am . This will serve as a quick rally point for us to divide the workload, team up, and clean up. With increased participation and awareness, each month will be quick, fun , and beneficial.

In addition to monthly "Neighborhood Beautification Days", on the weekend of June 6th and 7th your HOA will be sponsoring a spring cleanup for Eagle Crest Residents. If you would like to rid your garage, storage closet, etc of larger waste items, we will be stationing dumpsters at a few locations in the neighborhood. In addition, resident Fred Pfeffer owner of SHRED PROS, will be providing a shredding truck, to help you dispose of any sensitive or personal documents with confidence and eaze.

Look for updates on the exact location of dumpsters and Shred Pros as we near June 6th!

Neighborhood Beautification Day! Saturday May 2nd

WHEN: Saturday May 2, 2009 at 9:00 am
WHO: You and your dedicated neighbors

WHERE: Meet at the Park Gazebo

Purpose: To make a community effort to keep Eagle Crest a neighborhood of which to be proud.

With all of us pitching in, we can make neighborhood sprucing up a quick and fun activity. Armed with trash bags, we can team up and pick up along our entrances, fence, common areas, vacant lots, and Eagle Crest Park. This will be our first monthly beautification day, so we will also be addressing some much needed park repairs and maintenance.

Please come prepared with any preferred gloves, hats, sunglasses, sunblock, or jackets for your own comfort and protection.

Many of our teens need community service hours for church or school. This is a great opportunity to get them involved in a neighborhood activity, fulfill service requirements, or just develop good civic responsibility; plus it will help fill in that menacing space at the bottom of scholarship applications!

1st Annual Easter Egg Hunt

1st Annual
Easter Egg Hunt

Your Eagle Crest Homeowners Association sponsored the 1st annual Easter Egg Hunt for all of our neighborhood kids and grandkids. Families of Eagle Crest enjoyed fabulous weather, good fellowship, and a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny! At 2:00pm this Saturday, Eagle Crest Park provided the ideal outdoor setting for kids young and old to sharpen their gathering skills as they hunted for eggs and prizes. Kids seemed jittery as Tom Thomas corralled them into three age groups for the hunt. All eyes were lined up watchfully as each participant scoped out their ideal route for collection.

Three lucky participants were prize winners and received one of the grand prize baskets.

Winner in youngest group, Kelsey poses here with her younger brother as they examine their loot.

Winner of the 9 and older group marvels at his good fortune as he poses here. When asked about his strategy for the hunt, he said,"You have to move and think like a rabbit".

Winner in the ages 6-8 group was Zoey, seen here with her mother Felicia.

Special thanks for preparation and organization goes Tammy Barthuly and her sister Kim as the Easter Bunny. Donations to this event were from the Barthuly, Thomas, and Fricke families; and it's success is owed to YOU and all your neighbors for helping to make Eagle Crest a great community!
